Due to the variety of materials and manufacturing techniques, the production process for nameplates may vary, but it generally includes the following main steps:

General Nameplate Manufacturing Process:

  1. Design and Planning:

    • Determine the nameplate's size, design, text content, and color scheme.

    • Create the design draft and confirm the layout with the client to ensure it meets requirements.

  2. Substrate Preparation:

      • Printing: Such as screen printing or offset printing, suitable for plastic or metal materials.

      • Etching: Using chemical agents to corrode the metal surface, creating raised and recessed patterns.

      • Engraving: Using mechanical tools or lasers to engrave text or patterns onto the material.

      • Die-Casting/Stamping: Using molds to shape the metal into specific forms or three-dimensional structures.

      • Electroforming: Utilizing electrochemical deposition to create extremely thin, high-precision, three-dimensional logos.

  4. Surface Treatment and Finishing:

    • Clean and trim burrs and imperfections resulting from the processing stage.

    • Perform further surface treatments based on the design, such as:

      • Coloring/Painting: To make the pattern or text visible.

      • Anodizing/Plating (Gold/Chrome): To enhance the durability, oxidation resistance, and aesthetic appeal of metal nameplates.

      • Polishing/Brushed Finish/Sandblasting: To change the surface texture.

      • Epoxy Doming (Polyurethane Resin): Applying a transparent resin on the surface to create a three-dimensional, water-drop-like effect.

  5. Quality Inspection and Packaging:

    • Inspect the nameplate's appearance, size, and quality to ensure compliance with design specifications.

    • Perform final touch-ups and adjustments.

    • Apply adhesive backing if required.

    • Package and prepare for delivery.

[Note] Different materials and processes affect the manufacturing time and final result. For instance, aluminum is lightweight and highly workable, while stainless steel offers excellent durability. The processes of etching or die-casting are typically more complex than simple printing.
